Spring Snowboarding

I got to go backcountry (no lifts) snowboarding for the 2nd time on Saturday. It was an adventure. We started at the park road at 2500' and set off to climb to the ridge at 4500'. This entailed hiking through swampy brush, crossing a thigh-deep, freezing creek barefoot, more brushy hiking, postholing with snowshoes through the lower elevation melting snowpack, more brushy hiking, and then a nice climb up the snowfield to the top. Doesn't sound like much fun, but it was worth it for the ride back down. Then we did it two more times!

I was a bad photographer, but I stole these from Dan's camera.

Tonight I fly to Ohio for Colins wedding and some hanging out. I will be returning on Memorial Day. See some of you soon!
