Fire Breathing Neighbor?
It turns out the C-Camp is all about theme parties... Friday night at the "circus" party I found out that my neighbor could blow fire, and at the "pirate" party a few weeks ago, George the helicopter pilot made a very convincing eye patch out of beef jerky. I can only imagine what the planned craisin-eating-contest at the "craisin" party will bring. I guess you do what you can to stay insane...
I think that it would be pretty easy to hunt Caribou. Apparently their eyesight is so bad that if you put your hands above your head as you are walking toward them, they think you have antlers and will let you get really close. So the close up caribou photos are getting to be a bit commonplace.
Last weekends Anderson Bluegrass Festival was a good time. I spent most of a night playing along with the Clark County boys and I am learning a lot on my new mandolin.
The job announcement for the continuance of my current position was announced on Wednesday. If I get it, it will keep me here for 2 years with an option to extend to 4 years. I should know around mid September if I'm in or not.
It's starting to get pretty dark at night. I saw some stars last night for the first time since i arrived.
If anyone can think of a better way to test an electric fence, I'm open to suggestions...
Hope everyone in doing well. Bye!

Not sure if this is a stupid, but do female caribou have antlers too? If so make sure that your hands dont look like female antlers...that could get interesting... Anyway, i have a volt meter if you wanna test that fence... but hey, what do i know, you're the one that graduated with a degree in electrical engineer. You could always pee on it. That sounds like a good time. Remember nate? He used to always ground it out slightly with some foliage then touch it. It was a bit less painful that way.
Jared, the Caribou is big, is it really safe to be that close, and what may I ask is the electric fence for? Are you keeping something is or out? Hmmm, testing fences, looks interesting,Sounds like you are doing well and having a good time. WOW 2 years huh, that sounds long, just stay intouch when you can, Keep up with the great pictures, the ones with you in them are nice too. You take care now, Always thinking about you

I want to see you do that with the batteries installed!!! I like the Caribou shot. The foreground makes it interesting. Mom says the macho shots are nice but you should include some shots of the native flora for the girls. Hope you are better and I know you are having a good time so keep it up.

Jared, The pictures are great and I'm a little jealous since we we're supposed to get to Alaska in 08 and now it probably won't happen.
I agree with Bob, just pee on the fence. ;)
